Video at Penn State is integrated directly within ANGEL. This means that when a faculty member or student clicks the “Video at Penn State” link in the Lessons tab, they are automatically logged in to the MediaCore platform. The tutorial below highlights the necessary steps to access the system, upload content, and interact with course media.
To access Video at Penn State, simply click the link within the ANGEL course. You will then be presented with the MediaCore interface where you can browse public videos or access content specific to your course collections.
Uploading a Video
To upload a video, click the Upload button at the top of the page. From here, you can insert a video link if the content is web-based (such as YouTube or Vimeo) or select a media file from your computer. Then add metadata such as title, description, and tags, and select the course collection where the video will be housed. From there click Upload and it is done!
Finding a Course
Video at Penn State organizes content into Collections which makes finding a specific video or set of videos for a course seamless. Once you click the Library button at the top of the page, you see all the collections of content you can access, including a list of courses.
There are a number of ways to interact with a video when it is being viewed. Faculty and students are able to “like” and comment on videos in order to provide feedback, ask questions, and collaborate. Users can generate embed code to post specific videos within lessons, websites, blogs, etc.
